The Center for Leadership & Social Change / Programs / LeaderShape®

LeaderShape® at Florida State University hosts a session of the Institute which challenges participants to lead with integrity while working towards a vision grounded in their deepest values. Participants explore not only what they want to do, but who they want to be. During the week, participants will have an opportunity to meet and work with over 130 students from diverse backgrounds, as well as create a personal vision—an individual commitment to creating a positive change in the world. The Institute is designed to provide an environment that encourages personal leadership development. And, due to our wonderful support and sponsorship, attending the Institute is at no-cost to participants.

The 2016 Institute will be held Monday, May 2nd-Saturday, May 7th.

Who is the Institute for? The curriculum was created for individuals who are committed to engaging in personal leadership development work and who want to make a significant impact on campus, in their communities, and in the world.  At Florida State, the application is available for all undergraduate students.

The 2016 application is currently closed.  Applicants will be notified mid-March of the status of their application.  2017 applications will be available next February.

Who is the Institute facilitated by?  The Institute is facilitated by faculty, staff, and Tallahassee community members who are invested in LeaderShape's mission of a just, caring, and thriving world where all lead with integrity and have a healthy disregard for the impossible.  As we build the faculty team for each session, we invite you to submit an interest form to serve as a Cluster Facilitator here:

How LeaderShape® Happens - Our Thank You
Florida State University is committed to assisting students as they strive to achieve their highest leadership potential. While the Institute is organized by the Center for Leadership and Social Change, the success of the program is due in part to campus partners that have shown their support through financial donations. These donations make it possible for students to attend at no cost. Sponsors for past Institute sessions include: University Housing, Veteran Affairs, PHLLC, WIMSE, ONF, Honors, Aramark, Dean of Students, SGA, Campus Recreation, Greek Life, and the Oglesby Union.  If you are interested in funding LeaderShape please email Erica Wiborg at
