Certificate in Leadership Studies The 18 credit Certificate in Leadership Studies is an undergraduate program that is interdisciplinary, multidimensional, experiential, and multicultural. The certificate is offered through the Center and the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. Community Outreach The Community Outreach Program provides students with an opportunity to get involved in community service on a regular basis. The projects are student-led and are offered at a variety of non-profit agencies on an almost daily basis. Honors Service Learning Project Honors students now have the option to do a Service Learning Non-Credit Honors Project through The Center. Participating in such a project will help students to earn credit towards their Honors Medallion. Jumpstart Jumpstart is a national non-profit early education organization that combats the rising trend of preschoolers in low-income communities entering school without the skills needed to succeed. LeaderShape The LeaderShape Institute is an intensive and energizing six-day program that exists to inspire, develop, and support students who have a commitment to lead with a high level of integrity. Lead-Ins at the Rez Lead-Ins at the Rez are overnight, retreat-style, leadership learning experiences hosted by The Center and the FSU Reservation. Noles Leadership Book Club All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in the Book Club. Non-Profit Internship Program The Non-Profit Internship invites FSU students to earn up to 12 academic elective credits serving a non-profit initiative in the Big Bend area. PeaceJam PeaceJam is an international education program built around Nobel Peace Prize Laureates who work personally with youth to pass on the spirit, skills, and wisdom they embody. President's Humanitarian of the Year Award The President's Undergraduate Humanitarian of the Year Award is a prestigious award that recognizes students who exhibit tremendous commitment to service. Each school or college selects one student to be the Humanitarian of the Year. Rosenbloom Memorial Service Scholarship The Ben Rosenbloom Memorial Service Scholarship is designed to recognize students with an outstanding record of service and a commitment to a lifetime of service. Service Learning The FSU Service Learning Program works to support the integration of community service into the academic curriculum by working very closely with faculty, and to foster partnerships with community-based agencies. Service Scholars The purpose of the Service Scholar Program is both to recognize incoming students with an outstanding record of service and leadership and to prepare students to become active citizens and leaders on campus and in their communities after graduation. Service Leadership Seminar This three and a half-day seminar provides an opportunity for incoming freshmen to learn about community service and leadership. ServScript FSU recognizes the importance of service within a liberal arts education by giving students the opportunity to record hours of community service on their official FSU transcripts. Social Justice Living-Learning Community The Social Justice Living-Learning Community (SJLLC) is located in Wildwood Hall. The SJLLC is designed for students of all majors who desire to understand and practice social justice. Student Profiles of Service Student Profiles of Service is a recognition, sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Leadership and Civic Education, of students who demonstrate exemplary commitment to community service at the campus, local, national or international levels. Summer Serviceships Summer Serviceships provide funding to selected Florida State University students who wish to focus 8 – 12 weeks of their summer on full-time service at a non-profit agency in the United States or abroad. Without Words Without Words is meant to bring awareness for social issues that take place in our own community as well as around the world. Through passive and active programming students will experience and be exposed to the different injustices that are taking place. Youth Programs Youth Programs trains FSU students, faculty, and staff to work with elementary, middle, and highschool students in the areas of reading, math, and science.
