ABC logo Alternative Break Corps (ABC)
Alternative Break Corps creates opportunities for college students to travel to and serve in diverse communities across the country and abroad during their spring break, winter break, weekends, or summer vacation. ABC is a recognized student organization that functions under the nationally recognized Break Away organization. The Big Event logo

The BIG Event
The BIG Event is one of the largest, one-day, student-run service projects in the nation where the students of colleges and universities will come together on March 27, 2010 to say "thank you" to the residents of their college town. A tradition that started at Texas A&M University 27 years ago, The BIG Event will serve as the official community service event for the Florida State University Student Government Association. Students, faculty, and staff will participate in this annual event to show their appreciation to the surrounding community by completing service projects such as yard work, window washing, and painting for community members. >> Visit The BIG Event's website.

 

IMO Logo

International Medical Outreach (IMO)
The mission of IMO is to unite the efforts of a select group of pre-health students and medical staff in an international service learning experience that provides first hand medical care in countries less advanced. IMO members support physicians and help them see patients as quickly and efficiently as possible. Their responsibilities include intake, vitals (taking blood pressure and blood sugar), and pharmacy work, in which volunteers hand out prescribed medications. >> Visit IMO's website.
First Book

First Book
First Book is a national nonprofit organization with a single mission: to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books. We provide an ongoing supply of new books to children participating in community-based mentoring, tutoring, and family literacy programs. >> Visit First Book's website.

Service Corps FSU Service Corps
FSU Service Corps is a bureau of Student Government Association, composed of an elected executive board, who are dedicated to linking the student body with service opportunities in and around Tallahassee.  >> Visit Service Corps' website.
GPE Logo

Global Peace Exchange
The Global Peace Exchange was started in August of 2006 as a student organization at Florida State University to coordinate and expand the service-based exchange opportunities for students throughout the world. The core values of GPE are sustainability, service, and education. So far, GPE has had projects in Ghana, Rwanda, Guatemala, and Thailand. >> Visit Global Peace Exchange's website.

Habitat for Humanity Habitat for Humanity at FSU
Habitat at FSU works with the local Tallahassee Affiliate to improve the community we live in.  As a chapter, the goals are to raise money for Habitat houses, educate FSU students and the community on what Habitat is all about, and coordinate student volunteers for builds and other volunteer opportunities. >> Visit Habitat's website.
Invisible Children Logo

Invisible Children at FSU
The purpose of Invisible Children at FSU is to educate students and the public about the situation in northern Uganda, promote social change through democratic and diplomatic means, and to raise funds to help rebuild schools in northern Uganda. >> Visit Invisible Children's website.

Light the Night Light the Night
The FSU Light the Night Chapter is the first collegiate chapter in the nation and this is the first year that Light The Night will be completely student-run in Tallahassee. Your support means a lot to us and your participation will help save lives. ODK

Omicron Delta Kappa
Omicron Delta Kappa is a unique honor society, because it recognizes and encourages excellence beyond academics by including extracurricular activities. The members of Omicron Delta Kappa are some of the strongest leaders at The Florida State University. Our membership includes juniors, seniors, graduate students, faculty and staff, alumni, and honorary members who emphasize the "ODK idea" of exemplary conduct, unselfish service and success achieved in worthy undertakings. >> Visit ODK's website.
OHOT logo One Here…One There: Educating Children in Africa
OHOT is a college-student initiative complementing the United Nation’s Millennium Development Goals for basic education. OHOT partners with American universities to educate students about a variety of social problems in Africa and works towards generating funds for educational purposes. OHOT at FSU is taking specific interest in exploited populations, such as the women of Kenya and Niger, and is working to create change by empowering education and utilizing grass-roots development.

Operation Smile at FSU

Pre-Nursing Leaders logo Pre-Nursing Leaders
The members of Pre-Nursing Leaders are an advisory board in charge of bringing the Pre-Nursing student community together. The Pre-Nursing Leaders encourage and coordinate activities to get Pre-Nursing students more involved in both service and leadership around campus, as well as in the community. Other goals include getting Pre-Nursing students familiar with the nursing profession, and serving as a liaison between Pre-Nursing students and FSU faculty/staff. >> Visit the Pre-Nursing Leaders website.
