Student Profiles of Service

Applications for the 2010 Student Profiles of Service are now available! Application forms are also available at The Center for Leadership and Civic Education in the Dunlap Student Success Center.

Student Profiles of Service is an award sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Leadership and Civic Education recognizing individual students who demonstrate exemplary commitment to community service at local, national, or international levels. Service to the community demonstrates personal and civic responsibility as well as commitment to broadening learning experiences beyond the classroom. It also gives students the opportunity to acquire new skills and grow in empathy and respect for others. Students will not be judged solely on academic achievement, general leadership contributions, or sheer quantity of service activities. Applicants will be chosen based on the following:

Exemplary service on campus, local, national, or international levels.
Sustained quality of commitment to service.
Personal learning and skills derived from service.
Future plans/goals influenced by service.
(Students will not be judged on academic achievement, general leadership contributions, or sheer quantity of service activities.)

Format for applications:

Complete all information on the application form.
Applications cannot be accepted if there is missing information.
All responses should be typed in 12-point font and attached to application form.
Limit short essays to 300 words or less.

Applications can be submitted in any of the following ways:

In Person:
Visit us in the Dunlap Student Success Center. When you enter the building, take a right. Drop off applications at the front desk.
