But appreciating diversity of views and respecting individuals while in disagreement is critical for successful leadership. Learn about the complexities of conflict, viewpoint diversity, and how to seek interest convergence.
About the speaker

Brandon Bowden is the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Florida State University. Dr. Bowden directly supervises Strategic Planning and Assessment, the Director of Staff Experience, Information Technology, DSA Marketing and Communications, the Center for Leadership and Service, the Center for Global Engagement, the Student Union, and co-supervises the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE) along with the Dean of Undergraduate Studies.
A three time alumnus, Dr. Bowden earned his bachelor's in exercise science, his master's in higher education administration, and his Doctorate of Education in 2014. His past experiences include serving as an Assistant and Associate Director in FSU Student Union, as Dean of Students and also as a Title IX Director. Dr. Bowden also has experience in the areas of staff development, events planning and programming, crisis management, policy development and professional development.
Aishat is a second-year Presidential Scholar at Florida State University pursuing a dual degree in Creative Writing and Theatre Studies with a minor in French. Aishat plans to use her undergraduate education to pursue careers in dramaturgy, theater devision, and creative writing with an intercultural focus.
