About Us

Mission, Vision & Model

The Center for Leadership & Service transforms lives through leadership development and community engagement. Recognizing that leadership can be learned and is open to everyone, we encourage students to explore and understand their individual values, strengths, and passions through reflection. We provide student experiences to strengthen knowledge and skills to become more effective leaders able to work with others in a variety of contexts, understand the unique assets and strengths of communities, and engage collaboratively to address community-identified challenges.

We envision a world in which human flourishing is standard, encouraged by the cultivation of mutually beneficial relationships through which students develop into active, community-minded leaders who serve in ways desired by the community, and community partners are supported in their work by student leadership practice.

We offer more than 20 programs that foster opportunities to create positive, sustainable change on campus, in our communities, and around the world. Opportunities range from speakers and workshops to intensive, multi-day leadership training, from one-time local service trips with EngageTLH to global summers of service through the Moellership Program.
