About the panel

Wes Dorce, Moderator
Wes Dorce is an Innovation Hub Assistant Director, Innovation by Design Instructor, and Faculty Advisor for Seminole Innovators at Florida State University. With a passion for Design Thinking, Wes collaborates with experts to create innovation-focused learning experiences that equip students with valuable skills and connections.
In addition to fostering student success, Wes builds relationships with stakeholders, supervises interns, and drives strategies forward to support FSU’s mission to inspire creativity and innovation. His leadership is shaped by a rich intermingling of experiences, culture, family, and personal growth. He brings a dynamic approach to empowering students and stakeholders alike to embrace challenges and design impactful solutions for the future.

Hal Gentile
Hal Gentile, a two-time FSU graduate, is the Assistant Dean of Basic Needs Programs within the Department of Student Support & Transitions, where they oversee the FSU Food for Thought Pantry and are dedicated to facilitating student success through reducing barriers to basic needs fulfillment and security. Hal’s perspective is a synthesis of their wide-ranging background, which includes community service and mutual aid oriented around food, sociological research and teaching, political organizing, case management, and victim advocacy. They bring systems-level thinking, insatiable curiosity, plus...a little audacity...to tackle problem solving creatively.

Shington Lamy
Shington Lamy has been a distinguished public servant to the residents of Leon County for nearly two decades. Shington currently holds the position of Assistant County Administrator. He oversees several County departments including the Office of Human Services and Community Partnerships, Emergency Medical Services, Animal Control, Library Services, and the Office of Intervention and Detention Alternative which comprise of more than 300 County employees and make up approximately $54 million of the County’s budget.
Shington holds both an undergraduate degree and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Florida State University's Askew School of Public Administration. He is he lucky husband of Brandy Lamy and proud dad to Logan and L.J.
