Hurricane Isaias: How to help effectively

As Hurricane Isaias moves toward likely landfall in the Panhandle tonight, we know many members of the FSU community may be looking for ways to help with efforts across the state and region. While the urge to help in affected areas may be strong, disaster recovery experts often caution individuals from self-deploying to recovery efforts, as it can be dangerous for volunteers and impede the initial response of first responders and trained volunteers.

Service Scholar Program Wins Higher Ed Award

Florida State University’s Service Scholar Program was named a NASPA-Florida Program of Distinction for its outstanding contributions to service-learning and student success. The program has been run by the Center for Leadership & Service for the past 28 years. 

The “Programs of Distinction” award celebrates innovative programs and services that benefit students across a wide range of categories, including service-learning, student activities, leadership, and more.
