Florida State Alternative Breaks is a student-led service and leadership program that provides immersive community engagement experiences during academic breaks. Through meaningful service, education, and reflection, students explore new communities, build lasting relationships, and develop the skills needed to create positive change in their communities.
FSAB challenges students to move beyond traditional volunteerism by partnering with communities to support locally identified needs and learn from the people and organizations working to address them. Whether serving during a weekend or week-long experience, students engage in hands-on service, learn from local community partners, work with a team of like-minded students, and explore areas of personal growth and a stronger sense of purpose. FSAB empowers students to become community-engaged leaders who are committed to creating meaningful change on campus and beyond.
FSAB participants have the opportunity to:
- Build meaningful relationships with fellow students, community partners, and local leaders.
- Develop leadership, collaboration, and communication skills through hands-on experiences.
- Strengthen their commitment to civic responsibility and active citizenship.
- Explore new communities and perspectives while making a positive impact.
- Gain a deeper understanding of how service contributes to personal growth and community wellbeing.

American Indigenous Art Celebration
Join Florida State Alternative Breaks and the Native American & Indigenous Studies Center to travel to the Big Cypress Reservation in support of the Seminole Tribe of Florida and the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum as they host the American Indigenous Art Celebration.
