The center offers many opportunities for student internships and employment, including federal work study positions and paid internships, each year. Opportunities are varied in types of work, including program-specific internships, receptionist and administrative duties, logistics and technology, and marketing and media.

A|FVN Communications & Marketing Assistant
Assist the AmeriCorps | Florida VISTA Network Program Manager and VISTA Leader in supporting over 40 anti-poverty initiatives across the state of Florida! Activities include creating social media content, marketing and outreach, and assisting with the creation of content and materials for monthly professional development webinars.

CLS Customer Service Assistant
Customer service assistants work as part of a team of students and professionals to welcome visitors to the center and promote its programs and work. Responsibilities of the customer service assistant may include: promoting the center at tabling events or through presentations to classes or student organizations; assisting with special events, including open house and pop-up events; greeting and signing in visitors at the center’s front desk; fielding questions from visitors and callers to the center' main phone line, maintaining a clean and inviting front desk and lobby space, and following opening and closing procedures.

CLS Media Assistant*
CLS media assistants work as part of a team of students who promote the center's programs and events. Students usually specialize in one or more of the following areas: graphic design, photography, videography, writing and editing, social media and web design. In addition to work study positions, there are limited openings for students who have not been awarded work study.

CLS Studio Assistant
The studio assistant will work as part of a team of students and professionals to support storytelling-based programs and promote the center, its people, and programs. The studio intern will plan and produce audio and video content related to the center’s work and will serve as a point of support for other students and staff who may use the center’s equipment and resources for center programs.

FSU Votes Outreach & Events Assistant
The FSU Votes Outreach & Events Assistant supports the work of the FSU Votes Coalition, a group of students, staff, and community members promoting civic engagement initiatives, including voter registration and education. Responsibilities may include: participating in training and professional development that improves knowledge of voter and civic engagement in Tallahassee and Florida; assisting in voter registration at on-campus events; communicating voter and civic engagement information in person as a representative of FSU Votes and the Center for Leadership & Service; drafting professional emails and communicating in multiple contexts on behalf of FSU Votes, and tabling on behalf of FSU Votes at on-campus events.

FSU Votes Civic Engagement Ambassadors*
The FSU Votes Outreach & Events Assistant supports the work of the FSU Votes Coalition, a group of students, staff, and community members promoting civic engagement initiatives, including voter registration and education. The civic engagement ambassadors include two distinct roles: Position No. 1 is expected to attend FSU Votes coalition meetings, serve as liaison between coalition and student-led organizations (attend RSO meetings to share FSU Votes updates), aid in execution process for civic holidays, and aid in discourse/dialogue planning. Position No. 2 is expected to attend FSU Votes coalition meetings, create marketing materials for FSU Votes including print & social media, aid in execution process for civic holidays, and aid in discourse/dialogue planning. These positions are paid by stipend ($900 for the fall semester), and interested students should apply via this link.
