As Hurricane Isaias moves toward likely landfall in the Panhandle tonight, we know many members of the FSU community may be looking for ways to help with efforts across the state and region. While the urge to help in affected areas may be strong, disaster recovery experts often caution individuals from self-deploying to recovery efforts, as it can be dangerous for volunteers and impede the initial response of first responders and trained volunteers.

The center’s Community Outreach program has been reinvented. Now known as EngageTLH, the program allows students to get involved in the Tallahassee community through regular or one-time service opportunities.

Through EngageTLH, Coordinator Jenny Williams hopes that facilitators, community members and volunteers will see service as an engaging relationship.

This year's graduates and their supporting communities had the chance to celebrate, reflect, and recognize each other on their collective journeys to the V-rak-ke-ce-tv Cultural Graduation stage.

Hosting 12 speakers & performers, TEDxFSU 2018 examined the concept of Unity in Diversity and what it looks like across different spectrums. TEDx, an event gathered by the local community, stems from TED, which is a nonprofit committed to spreading ideas in short presentations. TEDxFSU is in its eighth cycle.
